You can say stuff like 'jeg sliter med preposisjoner' ('I struggle with prepositions'). 'gir meg en vanskelig tid' doesn't make sense in Norwegian I assume it's a translation of 'give me a hard time', but you can rarely translate idioms directly like that.Maybe someone else who knows more linguistics can help though. As far as I'm aware, what prepositions to use don't make logical sense in any language, really, and has to be learned.
